My love affair with horses began at a very young age, and once bitten by the bug, my passion only continued to grow. I began with riding and showing Morgan horses as a youth, and over the years have branched out through many disciplines, focusing my competitive career on dressage and in more recent years, eventing. I am the blessed owner of two lovely (and often opinionated) mares, as well as one precious, sweet-as-sugar, “pasture-ornament” pony. One of the aforementioned mares was my first horse many years ago and who first introduced me to the world of dressage. The other whom I have owned since she was a weanling, and have trained (thus far) to actively compete at 2nd level dressage and Entry level eventing with hopes to move up to 3rd level, and Pre-Training (because lets be serious, solid XC obstacles over 3’ are just downright vomit-inducing. Props to any AA’s who are brave enough to go beyond!)
I was able to turn my passion and love of horses into a career through equine massage therapy. I graduated with honors from D’Arcy Lane School of Equine Massage Therapy in July 2012 with the Ambassador Award for academic excellence. Upon successful completion of the entrance to practice exams, I became a member of the International Federation of Registered Equine Massage Therapists in July 2012.
Always the dog lover, upon realizing the need for qualified canine massage providers in the Maritimes, I began to expand my practice first into the world of canine agility. Over the years, now have many clients in all aspects of dog ownership, competition, and sport.
Unable to resist my appetite for education, I traveled back to Ontario in 2014 to complete my Kinesio-tape Practitioner Certification. Followed by travelling to Maryland USA to complete the necessary education to become an Independent Saddle Fitter.
My passion is in education, both for my clients, and continuing education for myself as a practitioner and horse and dog owner. I strive to work with my clients to help them understand their animals from a physiological and behavioral perspective. I will not always tell you what you want to hear, but I will tell you what you should know, and I will always tell you when I may not have the answer! And should that be the case, I will ALWAYS strive to help you find the answer. My goal is to bring equine professionals together to work as a team. Unfortunately, with animals, there is no black-and-white. No one-size-fits-all. No Band-Aid fix. Your team consists of your coach, your trainer, your farrier, your veterinarian, your saddle fitter, your chiropractor, your massage therapist, your PEMF therapist, your peers.
Together, we all can help you provide everything your animal needs to feel their best and reach their optimum performance potential! LETS GO TEAM!!
